  23.       appropriate size/capacity range can exchange cartridges.

  25.       All HP 5 1/4" drives can read/write to 60M cartridges.  (Even if
  26.       it was written on a 3.5" HP drive, as long as it is NOT in Data
  27.       Compression Mode.)

  29.       All 3 1/2" 2.0GB drives can read/write to all 60M and/or 90M
  30.       cartridges that are NOT written in Data Compression mode.

  32.       All 3.5" D/C drives can read/write to all 60M and 90M 4mm (DDS)
  33.       cartridges written on other HP drives in both standard and
  34.       firmware data compression modes.
  35.  
  36.       EXCEPTION:  The exception to the above interchangability is that
  37.       if compression is done by software instead of firmware, then the
  38.       cartridges can only be exchanged with systems using the same SW
  39.       package.  There is NO guarantee that the firmware algarithm will
  40.       work with the various software algarithms available.

  42.       Third party drives may be able to exchange information with HP
  43.       drives if they are using the same DDS standards.
  44.  
  45.       WARNING!!!! DO NOT USE 90M CARTRIDGES IN 5.25" DRIVES.  THE
  46.       TENSIONING WAS ONLY DESIGNED FOR THE OLDER 60M CARTRIDGES.  IF
  47.       YOU USE A 90M CARTRIDGE IN 5 1.4" DRIVE, YOU WILL CAUSE EXCESSIVE
  48.       HEADWEAR AND THE HP WARRANTEE WILL BE VOIDED.

  50.       The newer 3.5" drives were designed to sense which cartridge is
  51.       loaded and to adjust to the appropriate tension.
